Serves the state judiciary, working most closely with courts. Sets standards for certification, professional conduct, discipline and training of ADR neutrals in and for state and local courts. Also provides expertise on mediation systems to all branches of government. Provides no direct mediation services.

Located in the Colorado Judicial Branch, the Office of Dispute Resolution was created by statute in 1983. The Colorado Dispute Resolution Act established ODR to assist Colorado’s courts in ADR programs and in providing mediation and other dispute resolution services to the public. ODR is almost entirely cash-funded through the Dispute Resolution Fund established by the statute. Fees for ODR services are set by order of the supreme court to cover the program’s expenses.

Advances appropriate alternatives to litigation and alternatives to violence throughout Maryland�s courts, neighborhoods, businesses, schools, government agencies, criminal and juvenile justice programs and businesses. Created in 1998 by the Chief Judge of Maryland�s highest appellate court, this forty-member Commission includes judges, public officials, legislators, lawyers, ADR practitioners, community members, business representatives, educators and others. The Commission developed and is now implementing a practical action plan entitled "Join The Resolution."
