Governor Ruth Ann Minner Named PCI Co-Chair
Governor Minner is in her second term of office. Before serving as Governor, she served in the House and Senate. In 1974, she was elected to the State House as a member of a group of legislators from both parties who came into office on a "good government" mission.
Minner rose to leadership through building relationships and expertise through working in the legislative process over many years. She served four terms in the State House, at various times as House Majority Whip and by chairing the powerful Bond Bill and Rules Committees. In 1982, Minner was elected to the State Senate and served there through 1992. Elected Lieutenant Governor in 1992, she served two terms. While in that position, she chaired the Minner Commission on Government Reorganization and Effectiveness.
Governor Minner recently completed a term as the Chair of the Council of State Governments, CSG serves the executive, judicial and legislative branches of state government through leadership education, research and information services.
