Several entities responsible for implementing DR programs, as well as researchers and authors, have developed guidelines and advice. A number of these resources relate to integrating dispute resolution procedures into governmental decision making. Others are aimed specifically at the role of DR Coordinators.

  • Florida Conflict Resolution Consortium (2000). State Administrative Dispute Resolution Pilot Project: Report to the Governor. Reviews state agency DR activities, reports on the pilot project, and offers recommendations addressing legal, organizational, budgetary, and other barriers to administrative DR use.
  • Florida Conflict Resolution Consortium. User's Guide to Collaborative Dispute Resolution. Offers with advice on assessing possible use of collaborative processes.
  • Interagency Alternative Dispute Resolution Working Group (2000). Federal DR Program Manager's Resource Manual. An online manual designed to guide development of a DR program for the workplace. Contains chapters that address DR Program Design, Development, and Implementation, as well as listings of DR resources such as laws, articles, books and internet web links.

  • Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR) Environmental/Public Policy Sector (1997). Best Practices for Government Agencies: Guidelines for Using Collaborative Agreement-Seeking Processes. Guidelines for best practices in government-sponsored collaborative processes that seek agreement on issues of public policy.
